Louise Jarvis

Head of Region (East Midlands) - CSJ Foundation

I was drawn to CSJ having recognised the disconnect between charities, grass-root communities, and policy from over 15years of work in the charity and not for profit sectors nationally and internationally. Prior to joining CSJ I was the CEO of Baca Charity working with young unaccompanied asylum seekers providing an award-winning service, investing hope and shaping futures. One key insight was that the experience of young people was incongruent with policy objectives and justice.

I know many small charities and not for profits working with grass root communities have insights and experience that should shift policy and its implementation to better tackle the root causes of poverty and social inequalities in our country. I’m a passionate advocate to help those voices be heard and understood with the experts in CSJ’s policy teams.

It’s an amazing privilege connecting amazing small charities in the East Midlands and across the UK, with the experts in CSJ’s policy teams and learning together.

Something you might not know about me

On Saturday mornings you can find me at a Parkrun; I completed my first one in 2019 and was hooked. I am not a fast runner (understatement!); I love meeting with different people and sharing the satisfaction of completing the 5k each week.
