Gavin joined the Centre for Social Justice in August 2020 after serving as a Government Special Adviser in the Department for Exiting the European Union (DExEU), overseeing all areas of Brexit policy and parliamentary business. During this time he worked on the successful 2019 Conservative general election campaign. Until October 2021 he led the CSJ’s work on employment, regional manufacturing and levelling up as Head of Work & Welfare. He previously worked for global consulting firm FTI, as a writer and editor for news and comment site Reaction, and as a teacher and tutor in a leading independent school.
He holds degrees from Cambridge University and City, University of London in Philosophy, Theology and Law, and has written regularly for the Telegraph, ConservativeHome, Reaction and CapX.
